Chapter 7- Group's Art Work

Hey there,

welcome back for more of the story of E25A. For our last day of History of the Arts, we all decided to do a group portrait of Singapore's History. So Faizal kind of took the lead and informed us of our tasks, so that we all can finish our job as fast as we can.

This is the room where we did our master piece. Looks more like the sewing room in our secondary schools. You know, Home Econs. I know someof you may have forgotten. But it's ok.

Here, we all put in our effort to create the master piece. And the final product turns out to be....

Like this!

And so, we did our posing with our class work and we had to an RJ of our work. Too bad our faci did not extend the date. And now, I'll be ending this blog story with the Final Chapter.

Chapter 6- President's Visit and Ignite

President's Visit to our Polytechnic

On one particular day the President of Singapore, Mr S.R. Nathan arrived at our Polytechnic as a Guest of Honour. Now I haven't got a clue of his arrival, but my friends told me that he was supposed to open our sports complex. All this while, I was having the idea that our sports complex was great and there shouldn't be an opening ceremony. But this could be the plan for the school itself.

Well, me and a couple of my buddies went to greet the president and show our RP spirit to our president and we kind of enjoyed this day. I think.

Ignite

And then there was another event that occurred in our school. It's called Ignite. A music festival where local bands like electro and other bands and singers would come for two days to celebrate the music festival. It was similar like a Rock Concert. But it was quite fun and too bad for me, I went for one day.

Chapter 5- Trip for Benefits

As we are moving along from Chapter 4, we shall hear about Chapter 5, our trip to get CE Points and experience. We head to this place called Old School and we saw some media installations being displayed along the way. The Media Installations were sponsered by Osage Art Galleries, which are from Beijing and the theme is Crosscurrents. But with the pictures that I have shot, I'm pretty sure you would be amazed to what we saw inside. So here they are.

This is what we saw when we entered. A media installation of a Red Army Soldier. If you notice from the pic that the face of the red army is not actually the one you would want to see. That's why if you go nearer, your face would be shown on the Red Army Soldier's Face. It's a camera trick.

This was what I was talking about. The original face. Now you see it.....

Now you don't. The new Face.

This gigantic structure you see here is called Musical Wheel. It was designed by Hong Kong Artist Kingsley Ng that alludes( refer directly) the interconnectedness of all things and the movements in the cosmos. In layman terms, it helps to connect to our body through the movements around the device. When you sit inside the strcuture, someone would pull the string behind the structure and you can feel the vibrations around the structure.

This is what you will see when you sit in the structure. You can not only feel the vibrations, but also hear the sound from the centre itself.

Taken from another angle

This robotic structure is called Tyrannosaurus Rex Of China, designed by Jin Jiangbo. When you come closer, the robot will move and will roar at you. We didn't know that when we saw this robot for the first time. The moment the robot roared at us, everyone around me screamed, and V and me freaked out. The robot is surrounded by a tracking device, so when we come around the device, the robot will move. Not only that, there are also pebble stones around the feet of the robot and there are wires and light bulbs fixed in some corners. That is because it can be scary to view if the room is dark.

And this is the device.

These are the pebble stones around the feet

Here is another media installation we saw. I forgot the name of it, but I do know that if you stand on top of it, you will see the man screaming and slowly faling down. But it depends on how you step on it and how long you take to step.

This was how we stepped on the machine

Ok, enough talking. Let me show you photos of us having fun.

And that's the end of Chapter 5. Do Read Chapter 6.

Chapter 4- Aishah's Birthday Bash

This Chapter is partly extracted from Chapter 1, which is our birthday celebrations.

Moving on with Chapter 4, Aishah's special Birthday Outing. It all started on June 3 2008, when V and Pei Yu started the idea of bringing Aishah out on her birthday. So I decided to tag along and we each bought a birthday present for Aishah. I bought for her a Black T-Shirt, while Pei Yu bought for her a necklace and V gave her some special photographs.

Oh yes, not to mention, Daryl was also present and he presented her with a song by Bon Jovi called," Always", and he played the song with a guitar. But that's not the only thing we did. In addition, Aishah's sister was also present too. She performed a dance for her, then it was me and Pei Yu who performed for her as well.

We went to some place to play bowling and pool, so that we can occupy ourselves and have more fun. After we played, we went straight to Sakura to have our meal. I feel pity for Aishah that she had to eat 19 cakes all by herself. She ate too much until her stomach could not take it anymore. She said that she could find it hard to walk, then she felt nauseous. So what happened in the end? She vomitted out everything. Thank God she was alright after that. She felt better after Daryl and V helped her out.

In the end, we had a wonderful night and I'm sure that Aishah would never forget this night. It was one of our best memories. To cherish those memories, here are the photos.

Dedicated To Aishah, our special friend

And so, that was the end of Chapter 4.
